About me

Full time eater, sometime chef, part time wine lover and keen fine diner. Currently travelling and experiencing other cultures, which may or may not be loosely translated as eating great food in a lot of different countries!

I've been eating out regularly since I started work in 2001 and my taste in food has increased in cost since then, starting with a Japanese restaurant in Nottingham called the Higoi and taking me through a good number of restaurants in most people's top 100 (the Fat Duck, the Ledbury and Hibiscus to name but 3) my love of fine food has increased and with it my love of cooking, although I would defenitely not say I have been able to recreate the fine dining exprience in my own home I like to think I am a handy chef and some of my culinary ideas have been gleaned from my eating adventures.

I should probably add that the main reason for this blog is because I have a terrible memory and I decided that writing things down (such as a recipe when it actually worked) would be a much better idea than having to make everything up from scratch everytime I made something. It also gives me an outlet for some of my latent creativity which my day job of writing computer software doesn't always manage!
